Flower Of Evil - Why You Must Watch This MindBlowing Drama

I don't know where to start... just everything about this KDrama is literally the best you would have ever seen.


Be it the story, the characters, the actors, or the story development, I am still at a loss for words and reeling from the awe that I am having for Lee Joon Gi. 


The man is literally from some other planet. 


There may be spoilers in this post but please bear with me, I will have to spill something to write what I felt about the series.


Flower of Evil is now at the top of my list of best KDramas I've ever watched. So far it was a mix of reactions but this one takes the cake. I binge-watched this series over 3-4 days and I can imagine how people must have felt at the end of Episode 15 which was the best episode of all. 

Let's break down the characters I loved - one by one.


Do Hyun-soo

Lee Joon Gi plays this character and he literally immerses himself and what we see on screen is the cold, emotionless, unempathetic boy/man who practices how to smile, daily in front of a mirror and takes lessons from YouTube on how to appear normal. I cannot stop gushing over Lee Joon-gi, especially after Moon Lovers and Again My Life. He is just too good an actor and of a very different league. The way he cries after realising how much he loves his daughter is just so endearing, it feels so so real. 


Baek Eun-ha

This bundle of cuteness is just so adorable. I think everyone who saw this drama would want a little girl who would be a duplicate of Eun-ha. The way she loves her dad, the way she shows empathy, cries, enjoys her egg tart-u, melts her hard-hearted grandmother - simply beautiful. 


Cha Ji-won

The dedicated wife who trusts her husband and does everything she can to prove him innocent. But she is also the intuitive policewoman who can identify the perpetrator, without prejudice. She is someone who will go above and beyond for anyone and she did that for her Jagiya. Watching this couple puts your faith back into marriages. It wasn't unreal or over-the-top emotions that they displayed, it was very much believable and triggers the hope in everyone that such people also exist. 


Baek Hee-sung

The real character that Do Hyun-soo had been pretending to be all along. He exudes the coldness and the scent of a psychopath, he does it brilliantly that you actually feel a bit petrified every time he comes on screen.

Every single time Do Min-soek also appeared on the screen, I literally closed my eyes, his presence and his stare just gave me the chills.

The entire ensemble cast has been perfectly chosen to play the role. I totally empathise with Choi Jae-sub, the police team lead who is in a dilemma when it comes to arresting Do Hyun-soo because he thinks it is not the right thing to do - a tough cop with a warm heart. 


In total, I am in awe of everything about this KDrama, it is just too perfect. I heard there is an Indian remake of this series and I am sure no one can do justice to the original. 


Every single episode is just as unpredictable as the previous one, it leaves you on tenterhooks persistently and that is probably one of the reasons why this series was such a success. 


Watch it even if this genre is not in your comfort zone, you will grow to like it. I admire how Lee Joon-gi chooses his KDramas, the genres are fascinating and it is only he who can play the part to the T, the perfectionist that he is. 


Of course, you might feel I am being biased because LGJ is my new favourite but he deserves the attention. Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed the series or have a diametrically opposite view.

The Veil - Underrated Action Thriller KDrama - Review

I had finished One dollar lawyer - a feel-good, funny, and warm legal series and was impressed by Namkoong Min's acting. The way he smiled, frowned, laughed, and walked, so like all fangirls, I googled him, and wow. The wonder of wonders, he is a multi-talented personality! 2021's The Veil came up in the search and when I read the reviews I had to watch it. Trigger warning - this series has a lot (I mean a lottt) of blood, violence, and gore, so please use your discretion to watch. The opening scene itself turned my insides so much that I decided to drop the series. Watched a little bit of Little Women again and then came back to this series once again. Every episode in this series has a mind-blowing beginning and closing scenes. Alchemy of Souls S1&S2 - Must Must Watch - Review!

Well, one of the best series of 2022 - lots of magic and action. It took me a while, at least till episode 4 of S1 to understand who each of the names corresponded to, what alchemy of souls meant, why someone does it, what or who mages are, and all that jazz. Till the 4th episode, things go slow but once you start understanding things, there's no looking back. Jang Uk played by Lee Jae-wook is fantastic, he is the black sheep in the family and has no powers or skills but with the help of his maid Mu Deok-i, he goes on a quick learner mode and picks up most of the skills that take years to master. He is also lucky in many ways and seems like the stars are aligning to help him out. Loved the chemistry between all the stars, Mu Deok-i played by Jung So-min whom I first saw in Because It Is My First Life, is pretty and smart as ever.
