My Roommate is a Gumiho - Full on crushing on the lead pair - Here's Why - Review
Hye-ri coveted my heart (in a nice way) in Reply 1988. I was initially very irritated by her Doek-sun character but she grew on me with her silly antics. I loved her dressing sense in that series even though all the boys around her made fun of her. She kind of reminded me of myself in some ways.
When I saw one scene of My RoomMate is a Gumiho in an Instagram Reel, I was literally LOL-ing. Yes, in the first episode when she understands who Shin is. When I watched the entire sequence of events that led to that scene I was literally ROTFLing.Just when you think, the series/story is going down the usual path, there comes a twist. You can be assured of your laughs, thanks to Hye-ri's presence in the series.
The story might not be new but the way the writer and director have handled it is commendable. It never gets dull anytime as the episodes progress. Unexpected laughs, heart flutters, tears - this is consistent across each episode and I so looked forward to the next one.
Hye-ri won my heart as a girl crush but now it's time for the girl in me to fawn over the male lead. While he keeps a straight face in the initial episodes, the bright smiles just take your heart away every single time after he realises he likes Lee Dam.
You feel the pain of Lee Dam and the gumiho and their happiness, laugh along with them, uff what a satisfying series.
How can we ignore his height and these killer smiles... Just look at that, just look at those pearly whites, sharp chin, I just cannot get over him for some time now.
I have to commend the second and third pairs, the other supporting characters who come together to give us this hearty piece of drama where all our emotions are satisfied. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and so will you. If you're looking for a light watch, do try this!
